The MVCC Supports Our Troops AND OUR Veterans

We are a non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation of military vehicles of all types.  All of our vehicles are privately owned.  Although not affiliated with any government, military or political organizations, the MVCC often works in conjunction with Veteran's groups or organizations to support our troops.  This is our way of thanking those who served our country and who make our hobby and our freedom possible.  We are a diverse group, but we share at least three things in common: We have a profound interest in history, we collect military vehicles, and we wish to honor those who fought for our country.  Several MVCC members proudly served their country while others are current members of our Armed Forces.

We are frequently asked to participate in a variety of activities that support our troops and/or honor our nation's airmen, sailors, and soldiers.   We regularly attend parades and other events during Memorial Day, the 4th of July, and Veteran's Day to name a few.  We also participate in other activities to support our troops, and we are routinely called upon by the American Legion, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and other Veteran's organizations to transport veterans and their families to a variety of events.   Our vehicles are usually the most prominent and visible part of any event in which we appear and we are proud of the work that we do to honor our vets.   We utilize our visibility to create public awareness in support of our Armed Forces and for the sacrifices made by our veterans in serving their country.

Operation Papa Bear

Most recently, we established Operation Papa Bear to provide comfort to the children injured by war.  Our objective is to gather new or slightly used stuffed animal toys that we ship to children in Iraq that have been injured or maimed as a consequence of the war that rages in their country.  These children are often traumatized and the only way to reach them is through an act of kindness; these children respond enthusiastically when they receive gifts.  Thus far, we have shipped hundreds of stuffed animals to these children.  We accept toys via individual and corporate donations.

As of April 30, 2008, we have collected hundreds of stuffed animals to send to the injured children in Iraq.  Our 'animal drive' has met with incredible success - so much so that we now need help to send the animals overseas.  We filled an entire 2 1/2 ton truck!  WE NEED HELP!  We are seeking assistance with different shipping companies (e.g., USPS, DHL, FedEx, UPS, etc.) to see how we can send the toys to the children without breaking the bank.  If anyone has ideas or information, please contact Phil Movish at (303) 843-0600.
