For sale - rare Swiss Army lantern set - $650
Swiss military PETROMAX 2 lantern set in original wooden chest which can be used for transport and shipping. No dates on lanterns found but the manuals are dated 1981 and candle lanterns are dated 1988. These are liquid fuel pressurized pump up lanterns and operate like the Coleman camping lanterns. They burn kerosene, white gas or Coleman fuel. Great camping setup. The Petromax lamp was created in 1910 in Germany by Max Graetz (1851–1937), who also named the brand, on the basis of a spirit lamp that was already well-known. Around the year 1916, the lantern and its name started to spread around the world. The name Petromax derives from "Petroleum" and "Max Graetz". This set is used but in excellent shape and both lanterns work great. Country of Origin: Germany. Contained in the custom chest, dimensions approximately 24” X 16” X 16”, are the following: 2 lanterns, 2 (enameled) shades, 1 Petromax spanner (wrench), 2 packs of Swiss matches (20 boxes total), 3 packs of new mantles (5 each pack plus 3 loose total 18 new mantles), 1 funnel for filling the lanterns, 1 funnel for filling the pre-heating fuel trays, 2 small pre-heater fuel bottles, 1 spare globe, box with spare parts, 2 folding candle lanterns, 2 boxes of candles, 2 brass locks with keys to lock chest latches, 2 instruction sheets for lanterns (I believe in French, German and Italian. I have downloaded instructions in English included in the box. Total weight approximately 50 pounds. Contact Phil Curry @ 720-626-8484 or pcorjc@msn.com (clicl on pic below for fullsize)
